Demand for housing in Phoenix and its surrounding cities has exploded in recent years — and the trend shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
With so much market activity, buyers and sellers in the area may feel overwhelmed and unsure of their options. If you’re looking to buy or sell in Phoenix, a great real estate agent can be an invaluable asset — but who should you choose to work with?
We interviewed Phoenix Realtor Judy Hudek to ask her advice on finding the right real estate agent for your needs. Ms. Hudek has worked in real estate for 21 years, and she brings her background as a CPA and entrepreneur to her work with clients. She is a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist as well as a Certified Negotiation Expert.

Judy Hudek has been recognized as one of the top 100 real estate agents in the US.
EM: At what point should people preparing to buy or sell a house in the Phoenix area talk to a Realtor?
Judy Hudek: Your Realtor is your trusted advisor. Talk to a Realtor before you need one! Take the time to find an agent you are comfortable with who has the experience you need. Buying and selling a home are the largest financial decisions most people make. Do your homework.
EM: The Phoenix housing market has been extremely competitive for the past few years. How can a Realtor’s services help buyers and sellers in this type of market?
Judy Hudek: Low inventory, high buyer demand and the pandemic have changed our market. There are many exciting innovations occurring from more video and technology enhancement to mobile transaction services. But, there are also a number of new players all trying to make a quick buck and grab their own slice of YOUR pie! An experienced agent will have the knowledge to keep you safe during your transaction. With most advertising focusing on high sales prices, you have to be wary! Understand the transaction and the role your Realtor will play in representing you. Then you will also be your own advocate in keeping your financial assets and your wealth protected.
EM: What should someone look for when choosing a Realtor? How can they find the right match?
Judy Hudek: Trust and confidence are the most important qualities. There are agents out there doing all kinds of crazy things in this market, and not all of them serve the best interest of the client. Do you want to be represented by a hype man, or do you want a professional? This is a large financial transaction and you want to work with someone that can guide you before, during, and after the transaction.
